check out of                  officially leave, as from a hotel or a base
cheer up                        improve a mood/attitude; become happier
cross off                        mark completion of an item on a list
do over                          do again; redo; redecorate; rearrange
drop off                          leave someone/something at a place; fall asleep
figure out                       solve, probably by reasoning out an answer
get across                       make an idea understandable
get back                          regain; return to the point of departure
get on/get off                  enter or leave a means of mass transportation
get out (of)                      leave a car or other small transportation
give up                            surrender; quit trying
hand in                            submit; turn in

Some two-word verbs are preceded by BE.  The two main verbs are            
never separated; however, they may sometimes be separated from BE.
